International Relations

International Relations (IR) is the study and practice of the interactions and relationships between sovereign states, international organizations, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and other global actors. It encompasses the analysis of foreign policies, diplomatic practices, international conflict, trade, and cooperation among nations. The discipline draws upon various fields such as political science, history, economics, sociology, and law to understand how countries relate to one another, the impact of globalization, and the formation of international norms and agreements. IR theories, including realism, liberalism, and constructivism, provide frameworks for interpreting state behavior and international dynamics. Overall, International Relations seeks to explain and manage complex global issues, including security, human rights, environmental challenges, and economic interdependence.
