Fotbal

Fotbal, commonly referred to as soccer in many countries, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. The objective of the game is to score goals by getting a ball into the opposing team’s net. The game is played on a rectangular field called a pitch, with a goal at each end. Players primarily use their feet to kick the ball, although they can use any part of their body except their arms and hands (goalkeepers are an exception, as they are allowed to use their hands within the penalty area).

The term „fotbal“ is derived from the sport’s European origins and is commonly used in many Eastern European countries. The game is governed by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) at the international level, which oversees competitions like the World Cup.

Fotbal is one of the most popular sports globally, with a rich history and a significant cultural impact in many countries. It promotes teamwork, strategy, and physical fitness, and it is played both recreationally and professionally worldwide, with millions of fans and players engaged in various leagues and tournaments.
